The Wild Robot

Roz, a robot, finds herself stranded on an island inhabited only by animals and bonds with a gosling named Bright Bill. Together they discover the meaning of community and weather the seasons until migration time.

The Wild Robot is a survival story to remind us that however alone we may feel, we are never truly alone. Becoming a mother figure to a gosling modifies the robot's programmed beliefs - as an adoptive single parent, she becomes a central protective figure to the woodland community. The animation is beautifully crafted and original in style. The characters are not overly sentimental but focused on their personal development and they have work to do - an interesting reflection on our approach to childhood today. CTRL-ALT-REBOOT.
