Madness is allowed expression in "Joker: Folie a Deux". Rather than being suppressed, the story is exaggerated with grease paint and costumes... why hold back the urge to sing and dance? The title suggests a shared psychosis, but isn't that true of almost any couple in the throes of a ruinous romance? The pure imagination of the director and cast delivers a mix of strong emotions and an underlying foreboding that allows the audience to deeply feel the characters - to touch the wild disavowed parts of our very own natures.
